San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Friday, November 18, 2011. The heroes of the Mexican Revolution, including Villa, Zapata, Carranza and Madero, revived this morning in the parade that kindergartens conducted, to commemorate the 101 anniversary of the start of the armed movement.

In front of the old train station, on Railroad Avenue, the march began at 9:00 a.m. The little ones wore their best revolutionary clothes to take to the streets, causing tenderness on those who watched them. Hats, sandals, bullet holders, and braids were abundant.

Some wore sports uniforms and executed athletic routines. They were accompanied by war bands, decorated trucks and even big human figures. The children completed their expedition at the Main Square, where the Mayor, Javier Becerra, and other authorities waited for them.

A Year Without Don Ricardo Soltero "The Chemist"

San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Tuesday, November 15, 2011. A year ago, left to the meet the Lord, our great friend and teacher Don Ricardo Soltero "The Chemist", one of the greatest San Luis de la Paz citizens of all time people.

Don Ricardo, as several times we have mentioned, was a collaborator and the historical advisor of Sanluisdelapaz.com, from 2001 until the day of his death, on November 15, 2010. Many of his teachings are alive in our website.

The day that he died, San Luis de la Paz suffered an irreparable loss. To recognize the work of Don Ricardo, a few pages are not enough, we need to write a whole book; because his 86 years of existence were a never-ending cascade of personal achievements and contributions to the community.

Among his multiple qualities, he was a magnificent photographer, historian and tourist guide. For these reasons, in 2002 he was awarded the State Prize "Guanajuato Teaches with the Example". Rest in peace our dear friend and teacher. We miss you!
