Happy Thanksgiving Day

San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Thursday, November 22, 2012. Today, Thanksgiving Day, one of the most important festivities of the year, is celebrated in the United States. We send heartfelt greetings to all our fellow countrymen in the American Union, who prepare to enjoy the traditional turkey dinner, which even though it is not ours, it has been adopted.
Perhaps for those of us who live in the United States, our wounded patriotism has made us think that this event is not for us, that eating turkey is an alien tradition. But if we have children, we must take into account that the United States, our adopted country for X reason, is perhaps the only country our children know as such. The best way to understand a culture is through its customs, and this is already theirs.
Some in Mexico may ask why we are talking about Thanksgiving Day in our website, if it is dedicated San Luis in the Paz, Guanajuato, not San Luis de la Paz, Texas, or San Luis de la Paz, California.
We do so because this site was born and it is developed in United States. It was originally created at the University of Arizona (Tucson). It is transmitted from Dallas, Texas. And, the technical administration is performed from Florida by migrant Ludovicenses.
Since its inception over 12 years ago, the main purpose is to “bring” our town to a lot of people who are nostalgic for their land. We want to be a bridge between those who are in San Luis de la Paz and those who are away.
Fellow countrymen who live in the United States: We want to hear from you. Send us your pictures of your Thanksgiving dinner, which you will share with your family or friends. You can upload them on our profile on Facebook.
