Neighborhoods Make Pilgrimage to the San Luis Rey Parish

San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Neighborhoods of the city made a procession to the San Luis Rey Parish yesterday afternoon, on the first day of pilgrimages in honor of our patron saint, Saint Louis King of France.  The march began just after 6:00 p.m. on Railroad Avenue in front of the courthouse.  The groups which participated were the Holy Spirit Renewal and the Mexican Red Cross, as well as the neighborhoods La Virgencita, Los Pinos, Linda Vista, La Purisima, El Panteon, La Joya, Terrazas and Velasco Park.  La Guadalupana war band and an image of the saint carried on shoulders captained the pilgrimage.  Hundreds of faithful waved blue and white balloons.  A rosary was held, when they arrived to the temple.
