San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Monday, February 13, 2012. The Eagle Hill, located south of the municipal seat, is an elevation wrapped around with clouds and legends. Viewed from the city, it seems to be just another mountain. But observed from the road from San Luis de la Paz to Mineral de Pozos, it shows the form of an eagle in full flight, from which its name originates. According to oral tradition, in pre-Colonial times it served as a watchtower to the Chichimeca Indians. It was also considered a sacred place by them. Some local legends of that time involve this mound.
